Analytical Chemist (Dayton, NJ)

Duties Included

  • Assist the study Director with all phases of study design, scheduling and conduct. Act proactively to identify problems and potential problems.
  • Assist in writing, reviewing and editing reports, protocols and SOP’s.
  • Training other staff members
  • Set-up and conduct experiments in accordance with Protocol and SOP's.
  • Efficiently carry out procedures necessary to complete each project with minimal supervision.
  • Accurately prepare all solutions needed for analysis.
  • Meticulously maintain precise records of all experiments in accordance with good laboratory practices.
  • Wash glassware as needed and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Follow all PSL safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements

    B.S. or M.S. degree or equivalent experience; in analytical chemistry is preferred. Wide knowledge of EPA-FIFRA protocols especially Series 830 as well as associated OECD, EPA-TSCA and EU protocols. Extensive bench experience with various analytical instruments, especially GC & HPLC is essential. Intimate knowledge of all applicable GLP regulations is required. Computer proficiency and supervisory skills are desirable.

    The individual holding this position must be of highest integrity and have a very strong sense of responsibility and be willing and able to work with little or no supervision. He/she must be mature, willing to learn new skills, well organized, capable of adapting to a broad spectrum of responsibilities and able to maintain meticulous and accurate records. Adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is of utmost importance.
