Irritant - Induced Ear Swelling
Anti-inflammatory effects of compounds can be assessed by measuring the degree of ear swelling in mice in response to irritants such as phorbol esters, arachidonic acid or croton oil. The test compound will be applied topically, or given orally if requested by sponsor one hour before application of the irritant. Ear edema will be calculated by subtracting the thickness of the control ear from the treated ear by using calipers.© 2005 - 2008 | About PSL | Webmaster
