Acute
EPSL has very extensive experience in GLP acute toxicology, including the standard “six-pack” toxicology studies required by the EPA for registration and reregistration of pesticides. In fact, for each of the past five years, EPSL has conducted more of these studies submitted to the EPA than any other laboratory in the world. All studies are very competitively priced (see Acute Toxicology Prices).
EPSL study directors are expert in the requirements of the various US and international agencies and can assist clients in selecting protocols and dosing levels. We have special expertise in acute inhalation toxicology, conducting over 150 studies a year on liquids, powders and vapors.
Typical routes of administration at EPSL include oral gavage, dermal, IV, IP, Sub Q, intradermal and inhalation, both nose-only and whole body. The following is a partial list of the procedures available:
- Eye, skin and oral mucosal irritation
- Oral, dermal, inhalation and systemic toxicity
- Skin sensitization
- Penile and vaginal irritation
- Skin corrosion
- Comedogenicity
- Implantation/extraction studies for medical devices
In-life QA audits are performed on each EPSL acute toxicity study.
